Safety and Intended Use

Intended use. LiteTouch and LiteTouch Connect are hand-held mobility aids for people who are blind or visually impaired. They detect the distance to objects up to 20 metres away and present it as a gentle movement under your finger. They are designed to complement, not replace, a long cane, guide dog or other primary mobility aid and orientation and mobility training.

Important. Do not rely on the LiteTouch as your only way to detect hazards such as kerbs, steps, drops, glass doors, overhanging obstacles, moving vehicles or water. Laser and camera performance can be reduced by bright sunlight, rain, fog, reflective, transparent or very dark surfaces, or a dirty lens. AI descriptions may be inaccurate. Charge only with the supplied or a recommended charger. Do not open the device. Keep the wrist strap on when using it near roads, stations or water.

The LiteTouch uses a Class 1 laser product, safe under normal use.
